Added new 6AWG wire for the primary, as well as new much larger bolts for the spark gap. Otherwise system is unchanged. Needs a final tune though. Still@ 12v input with~120W input.

MMC is a 5nf array of WIMA FRP 1 caps.

  • Spectacular!!

    12 volts input is amazing.

    What amperage?

Are you using a charging choke and voltage multiplier?

Inspired by you my little tesla wines and sprays softly at 12V would the addition of this help?

  • Hey,

    Thanks for the comments.

no charging chokes or voltage multipliers here, just 12v@10amp DC input into a tuned ZVS driver.

Shoot me a PM, if you need any help.

  • Amazing coil, but holy shit sis that scare me. I forgot it was on a flyback and had my speakers up.

I think my cat jumped higher than I did lol

  • LOL haha

Flyback Tesla coils shriek like banshees. :) I can imagine what it did to your cat.

  • Thanks for the kind words. The spark gap is a standard spark gap. The electrodes are enormous bolts I bought at the hardware store. to ensure decent quenching a high power (very high CFM DC fan is mounted on the plastic tube. It is nothing special standard run off the mil static spark gap.

  • Yes, the coil is running off a flyback transformer. It is driven by the Mazilli/ZVS/Royer driver. Input voltage is 12v, power is around 120W.

  • schematics please please please. thank you : D

  • That is awesome!

    Could you post some schematics?

    Thanks

  • @teslaozone hey, i am using a range of different diagrams and making some up myself as i go. using the Mazzilli ZVS fly back driver as the basis, and then a voltage modulation inputted using optical cables to seperate the audio input from any feedback.

  • @engelteir can you send me a link to the instructions your using to build it? thanks

  • @bmanTCoiler schematic and parts please?

  • whats it feel like?

  • What are you using as ground? I also have a small flyback powered TC almost finished but im a bit skeptical on grounding the RF ground to a wallwart... :S

  • HOLY OoooOOo

whats the capacitance??? and the secondary size????? perfect!

    ZVS flyback driver????

  • totally the best flyback tesla i have seen. such big sparks! i am thinking about making a audio modulated tesla and just working out what sort of drivers etc i want to use. yours just gets me even more motivated!
