Spotlight may have been the first to work exactly like it does, but it was not by far the first search engine within an operating system. Spotlight came out in 2004 for Mac and Windows 95 had a search built into it even. And the OS X Dock was not out before quick launch... the OS X operating system was not even OUT until 1999, and the quick launch was available on Windows 95 which had been released in August of 1995

Ok that's your view right? So what your saying is mac copied.

Well as a a mac supporter I admit that, however you need that no matter what so it isn't copying; seeing as if mac was first windows wood by copying. Plus mac invented the mouse, trashcan, desktop seeing as ms dos didn't have that. The idea of a chess set is copying because the differents between 1 theme is too similar. Gadgets widgets no the same thing oh wait they are. The name is too similar and the idea is copied.

yes, that is sarcasm, but please take into account that Mac has copied MUCH MORE IMPORTANT things, like "Desktop" and thousands of features and it's Mac putting things in different places to seem like "changed", for example "close, restore, minimize" buttons, in windows they are on the right side, in Mac they are on the left side. And please don't forget that Mac OS uses the same windows.I don't say that Mac or Windows is better, but I want to say that, it's Mac copying Windows =)

With the exception of DirectX>OpenGL for gaming, I've yet to see anything else at all that Windows does better.

Lol, you're funny, but you would probably benefit from educating yourself a bit.

Spotlight WAS the first desktop search application that works like that, before you could search but it wasn't instant or widely accessible. Double clicking or single clicking is an extremely minor detail that nobody at all gives a damn about, but the fact of the matter is you have the option of doing either in both OSes. And the OS X Dock was out BEFORE quick launch so you only proved the point lol.

Search isnt a rip at ALL it was around b4 Mac, Windows had a chess game for EVER its just graphically enhanced now. widgets, any good idea is going to be taken frm somewhere else the entire navigation of Mac OS can be considered a rip off of Windows because on the old macs you single clicked on PC u double click and now you double click on a Mac, also the program bar on the bottom of the mac is ENTIRELY like the Quicklaunch on the PC, so stfu with this pitty argument, great ideas get taken.
