@tsuiter91 dont go security forces if you want to be deployed to afghan however if you get stuck in security forces anyway try to go FAST you will get deployed not to afghan but at least youll do somethin else besides sitting stateside

@tsuiter91 Yea im in the same boat trying to get infantry, but if i cant im gonna settle for security forces. If you get security forces you still go to SOI then security forces training. You will be security forces for two years then get sent to an infantry unit for the next three. They will probably be deploying within a few weeks or months when you get there. You will be deployed.

Just finished up with meps, and headed for boot this summer. I wanted to be 0311, however unless something opens up, looks like infantry jobs are gone for now. My recruiter told me if it doesn't work out, he can get me in security forces. I was curious if I'd still be deployed to Afghan, or just be stuck guarding some base in the states. I'd like to head overseas.
