Katamari Forever - Co-op level In The Neighbourhood - 2m and "secret items" in the burger shop

Thanks goes entirely to The_Best_1994 aka Robo_King_1994 for this video. He taught me about the secret items, and even spelled out the strategy I used in the video to grow large enough in the burger shop.

I'm sure a lot of Katamari Forever players are not too familiar with the co-op levels. They are the same three levels that were co-op levels in Beautiful Katamari. In The Neighbourhood covers the same territory as BK level Sunrise Castle, except it starts outside at 20cm rather than in the candy store.

In this video I grow as big as I can outside without reaching 50cm (at which time the inside of the burger shop would become inaccessible), then I enter the burger shop, then I grow about as much as I can before picking up the King's Broken Heart, and finally after I pick up the garbage bags under the counter I am big enough to go nuts and snag big items inside the burger shop that would normally be too big to roll up.

Among these items are "Burger Shop Boy" and "Burger Shop Girl", whose names showed up in rainbow text in this video even though my save file already claimed to have 100% of the items collected. So those two items are 'secret items' that don't show up in the item lists and don't count toward the item total.

I suppose it is so unlikely that a person would roll up those two items in normal play that it makes sense the game's creators would not have had them count toward the item list. Another item that is a similar case is the round Laundry Hanger in Make a Star 10 which can only be rolled up from about 1m42cm to 1m50cm (it disappears at 1m50cm), and which is in the first part of the stage. It's fairly hard to reach its rollup diameter still in the first part of MAS10. The Laundry Hanger, like Burger Shop Boy and Girl, was discovered by The_Best_1994.

I just tried growing big in the burger shop in Sunrise Castle in Beautiful Katamari, but it didn't work. Growth slows way down by 75cm in that stage if you're still in the burger shop.

It will probably be obvious to viewers that I didn't really have a route planned out in this video :) plus I spent about a half minute total trying to pick up one pesky box under the counter near the end. Well at least I did finally get the box at the end, lol.

Do Burger Shop Boy and Girl appears on the list in BK?

@SeamonkyNG Very good question ... yup, I just checked and they're both in the item list in BK under Workers. They're both in Shani Circuit; I guess no level where they are easy to roll up made it into KF.

I wonder, if you entered at 49cm9mm and be a little more thorough, 2m50mm would be possible?

@sloobro The key for that is communication. You have one person be a leader, and say when to go, what moves to do, when to stop, where to go, ect. It helps if both people involved are good at KF as well.

I'm fairly used to playing co-op katamari by myself, lol, with one controller on each leg. Myself I am amazed by people who can play co-op actually with two people.
