Cowboy Action Shooting

Few things evoke the Old West like the cowboy and his shooting irons. Those days are still very much alive in Jackson Countys Hooten Old Town. Host Tim Farmer enjoys a day with the Single Action Shooting Society where participants enjoy a rootin tootin style of target shooting in preparation for the next Hooten Holler Roundup.

i don't know of pistol only comps ,you bring the bullets and people will lend you the guns.i want to go sun,depends on the weather.i'm a fair weather cowboy.

Ive been shooting my whole life but im thinking about getting into this sport, one question is it only 3 guns, or do they just have pistol comps only?

Sure is more sophisticated now than when I started in the first group in the early 1980's in Southern California. We used cardboard cut outs instead of real buildings!

not sure i buy the 38 will cut your time. i know the 38 pistols are a bit heavier then 45.

I wish i had a good CAS at my range. its decent and definantly better than nothing but its not setup like these ones

This is a great little video to help show what this whole game is about. I tell ya', I shoot twice a month and count the days till the next match. Very fun and extremely additive! Great team and self esteem builder for men, women, boys and girls. Gotta love this sport!!
