Physical therapist Lynn Grabe recounts the rehabilitation of Lauren, an excellent athlete who suffered a severe fracture of her left tibia and fibula in her very first field hockey game. Eight weeks in a cast left her leg muscles atrophied but she hoped to return to sport as quickly as possible for her spring soccer season.
Aquatic balance, agility, and sport-specific drills in the HydroWorx pool at Children's Hospital in St. Paul, MN aided Lauren's rapid return to the playing field.

  • @HeirloomNoob Hi, although my case may not be like yours, i had my cast removed today from a tibia fracture after 9.5 weeks. The first few weeks are terrible, but it gets better after like 6 weeks (for my case). I was told to try walking yet i still have bone pain. You will have to be very patient and will need lots of support! Don't stay isolated at home all the time, go outside a bit when you get the chance.

  • i broke my fibula 4 days ago. this is terrible. please message me if you can relate and give me guidance.

  • @ 16terrellowens I hope you recover successfully from that accident. Life always throws unexpected things at us, and I like your attitude that you are thankful to still be alive.
