This all makes a lot of sense...exploiting our differences(or perceived differences) and our insecurities(or perceived flaws) to control us and to get what they want from us. Very well put, my friend.

I wonder if human beings are just pleasure seekers... because surely if one is / or thinks one is of one sexuality but finds no success in that sexuality then one might look in another direction. If one then indulges in another sexuality then does that make that person always to have been latently that sexuality or does it just mean it has become the sexuality or does it mean that the sexuality of that individual has become broader? Or are we just addicted to pleasure seeking?

I agree with you. I think that if one is put into or puts oneself into different scenarios then one will come to have different experiences of thinking and feeling. Then one might try out things one would otherwise would not. I suggest this could be so for drugs of different sorts, for sex being readily available, or for different types of sex partners. I think human beings will or might indulge in various things under different exposure to events/circumstances, etc. Lifestyle is a big factor.

Political control in this context is very interesting. It is a methodical but hidden process. Somehow the ideas/notions, agendae of politicians seek out medicalisation as a means to "legitimise" them. The medics who do the research / academic work will probably genuinely believe in those ideas which of course don't just come from politicians but from wider society. But of course it's the political agenda and the funding for such and the rewards for the academia which we should look at more.
