You're right about WBSS and Human Nature.....but Billie Jean was lip synched for half the song throughout the entire HIStory Tour and for his shows in 2001.
He'd come in singing live about 3/4 of the way through the song...

@N1CKLBACK Yeah I'm pretty sure it was only those 2 that were dubbed with the demo version. There were some songs I could point out he was lip syncing to in the movie, but I think the This Is It concerts probably would have been the most we've heard him sing live since the Bad tour.

@exmk000 what songs used demos then? billie jean, earth song? but as far as it was known had he performed at the o2 he would have been singing live, would have there been the odd song with energetic dance routines that he would require to lip sync?

@N1CKLBACK There were rumours about some songs using old demos, so Sony Pictures put out a press release explaining why.
"In order to fulfil Michael's vision for his fans and his children... the filmmakers had to incorporate some pre-existing materials, including vocals, where the rehearsal footage audio was incomplete and/or inaudible. In addition, usage of master recordings (such as Earth Song) was credited in the end titles."

@exmk000 whats your source? I do believe you but who said the sound quality was bad, because didnt they film this is it mostly using HD cameras, escpecially the billie jean rehearsal performance?

I saw the movie and all I can say is that if MJ had actually lived to bring this show to the world - it would have been the most over-the-top concert in the history of the world! Everything about the "This Is It" concert series was EPIC!
