@SamBevins I disagree. A Chord is a group of (typically three or more) notes sounded together, as a basis of harmony. Just sayin,

@durtmagert A chord in music is any harmonic set of two–three or more notes that is heard as if sounding simultaneously. so a 5th chord or "power chord" falls under that.
