Very moving and thought-provoking. I wonder what the field would look like if there were more flags, of other colors, representing all the people whose lives were affected by the soldiers' lives - and deaths. I saw a display where I live in which there was a pair of shoes or boots for each person who had been killed in the war. So hard to look at - placing something tangible in front of people makes them face the reality of war. - Lynda

Yes, it would be interesting to see a flag for every fatality of every nationality involved in this war. It would be a big field.

Rolf, I don't know you. But, Beth I do know you, you sweet mentor you. This should be on a new "Best of Beth" album. You know me, I like story songs. And we can't beat the factual ones. Great job, both of you, and thanks for inviting all of us to comment. This is good stewardship of history. (See you, I hope, in Oct. and Nov. when I'm up that way for an extended stay.)

I like the song and the idea. Maybe I missed the point or more specifically which side this song lands on.

If the idea is to make you think without the song putting you on one side or the other it is a job well done.

VeI think the words tell the story well and lend themselves to easy memorization as protest songs and union songs are want to do. I enjoyed the singer's voice and the emotion he was able to bring to the words. As a video I think it was an excellent collaboration. The written words brought together with the singer and the pictures do tell a very emotional story.
