Nutmeg

What an irresistible face? Nutmeg is an absolutely adorable adult dog that came to us from an outlying animal control. She looks like a miniature Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.

Nutmeg is a sweet and easy-going girl that gets along well with other dogs and everyone she meets. One of her favorite things to do is snuggle up in her person's arms.

We did notice that she has a heart murmur, which is very common with her breed. She has an appointment coming up to assess how severe it is an whether she will need to be medicated. Check back for updates.

Update 12/9/11: Thanks to Dr. Duffy Jones at Peachtree Hills Animal Hospital, Nutmeg had an echocardiogram of her heart to see how progressed her heart murmur was. Nutmeg does have moderately severe heart disease. She will need to be on life-long medication and require regular visits to the vet for monitoring of her heart. She will always be a special needs girl. She will require another echocardiogram in one month to see how fast her heart disease is progressing and to determine if the medication dosage is helping. Despite some serious news, Nutmeg is in good spirits.
