I wish they'd release this on PSN.

this game was amazing...even better when you hooked up two playstations, to their own tvs...

@elbryan42 Hmmm, mine isn't redbook audio. The audio/music is in a really odd file format that would only play on a specialized player I downloaded off the internet.
Mine's the old version with the tall case, not the jewel case one. Maybe that has something to do with it?

This is some trippy shit.

i found this game in a ship haha also with final fantasy 9 , beast wars and lifeforce tenks :D lucky me

One major problem I found in the PSX version was that during frenzied fire-fights (especially on higher difficulties) weapon fire and enemy robots adopted a more jerky movement, essentially becoming hitscan in many respects. Made some of the later levels really hard.

It was not redbook, the digital music was special data files. Only the Mac version had redbook music which meant you can play the music in your audio CD player.
-
BTW, the song "Rusty" by Nivek Ogre debuted in this version prior to appearing in the Descent II expansion pack Vertigo.
-
Most was from the Mac version,. while a few songs were from Descent II (CD).

Music=remix of Miranda Mine from PC version
Was there any music specific to the PSX version? I know there was a remix of what was Level 14 in the PC version, but as for others...

Yes, about half the music is completely new.

Hmm.. is it just me... or is this using different music.
True the PC version had a strictly MIDI soundtrack, but the Mac port in 1996 used a pro-mixed soundtrack. & if I recall this is a song for a level much later in the game, like the 6th.

Yup, different music. Redbook audio, very awesome. :)
