With school back in session, the deeper pool was nearly vacant. Even so the lap lanes were left in place. My fiancé and I spent some time in the pool with the camera and tails in another attempt to capture some underwater 'dancing.'

  • youre awesome :-) i loved watching this!

what would you recommend using for making side fins and such like what you have on your tail? shimmery material? did you make some sort of frame for the shape?

  • @mkmstrings For my fins, I used the same material as the tail. I sewed in some parallel lines to help stiffen them up so they held their form in and out of the water. The painting job on them also helped them keep their shape overall, they do flop in the water but that makes them appear more realistic and more like fish fins.

  • @mkmstrings I used the same material for the extra fins as I did the main body so I knew it would match even though I painted over most of it. :)

  • What monofin do you use I have a size 5 1/5 to 6 american and can't seem to find the tempo by finis.

  • @JMysticStar7 I use the larger monofin above the Tempo. For that one, I would try looking at SwimOutlet. com

  • graetr video!! ^^

    one question:

how much time it took u to controll your moves in the water and swim that great?

    please answer!

  • @Efrat989 If you are asking how long I have been swimming, it's been since I was 18 months old and swimming like a mermaid has always come naturally to me, with and without the tail.

  • what is the song called? its beautiful! who is the artist?

  • jw, how do u swim with a mermaid tail? I heard that it was a lot more difficult than swimming regularly in a pool (which I can do just fine), but idk if it's harder to swim w/ a mermaid tail

  • Very graceful and pefect music for this clip.....look forward to my girls seeing it (they LOVE mermaids!)

  • omg.at the beginning i thought that the little fins in the front were pockets!anyways i love your tale

  • I love swimming and got a finis Monofin about 5 years ago. The Purple workout one for about $50. I love it, but sadly I'm the largest shoe size that will fit the thing. I can swim with it, but I have some issues. The straps that go around the heal frequently slips off, and my feet love to get cramps when I'm using the monofin in a workout fashion. Anyone have any advice? Is there a blog or something for people who love monofins? Thanks ^-^
