@Tredoltle Japanese are killing off whales. They're killing off sharks for shark-fin soup. They actually cut the dorsal fin off the shark and than toss them back in alive. WTF... No fuck the Japanese. If it was up to me, we'd nuke them fuckers again. A prehistoric shark comes along and what do they do? Kill it to eat it.

This creatures habitat is 600M down and they found it <10M down. It is most likely it was on its way out anyways. Some animals are known to travel someplace to die. This one's might just be near the surface. Plus, these things are caught in fisherman's nets all the time. They're just dead by the time they get to the surface.
Therefore we can conclude: This is not the only one, this is the only one they caught on camera still alive.
