"What makes a man a king?"
written by Thè Revelation
(10 Minute Poetry)
The heart sings of many things,
pulling the harp strings
what makes a man a king?
Maybe it's the halo of his crown?
the luster of his rings?
His velvet gowns woven from the silken wings
of birds that glide under the canopies of paradise.
His scepter that brings
a fragile balance of fire and ice.
or maybe it goes deeper,
past the gates of a man who holds time as his keeper.
What makes a strong man great
is what makes a strong man shake,
look into her face I see my entire fate.
my past, my present
I'm just a peseant in her presence
but in her absence
I feel the echo of her essence
the virtious man
never slanders the motherly hand
the one that procreated him from the tiniest sand
and crystallize the shape
that formed everything i am
and laid out before him the red carpet of dreams
my wife is my princess,
but my mother will always be my queen.
the vilest man
is he who brandishes the whip
that palm that strikes and trickles blood from her lips
there is a special place in hell
where the demons lay
and every single day till eternity
they will give you tormentry
so think twice
before your hand strikes
the fear written on her face
the tears that erases
kindred bonds and bonds the heart to hate.
the heart sings of many things
so tell me, what makes a man a king?
