Using an iPhone 3G as a Digital Camera

This brief video shows a number of photos, close ups, portraits, and scenes, taken with the new iPhone 3G' built-in camera. Overall, the camera preformed well, the photos are of an acceptable quality and it couldn't be easier to "point and shoot". Having said all that, it's not going to compete with the many inexpensive but more sophisticated digital cameras that are now on the market.

Both the iPhone and the Nokia N97 are cool phones. There is no question, at this point, that the iPhone has sold more than the Nokia, but that doesn't, by itself, tell which is "better". Ultimately, the choice of which is "best" is a personal one. If you want to see the differences, I suggest you Google "compare iPhone nokia n97" and determine which is best for you.

Can you be a bit more specific? It's not clear just what you mean by "out of place"? Is that intended to be a comment on the video I made, or is it somehow supposed to relate to the quality of the photos taken with the iPhone?

The new iPhone 3G has a built-in 2.0 megapixel camera. There is no video capability included with the iPhone camera, however, I understand this is a software issue.

There is a procedure, called "Jailbreaking", that permits using software applications not approved by Apple, and included in this catagory of "unapproved" software is an application that permits the iPhone 3G to take and record video.

I hope this video capability will soon be available to all iPhone 3G users...but who knows.

Hello, I just saw your video, What i would like to just say is that on my old phone. LG750 or something like that, once i uploaded the pics on to myspace or something they went all blury. and the megapixels was 3.0 and this one is 2.0 will this make a minor difference and make it worse?
