Captain Walter Peach was an American company commander stationed in Bandar Shapur (now Bandar Imam Khomeini) in Iran on the North end of the Persian Gulf during WWII. In the course of his service he took 350+ photo slides at B.S. and at many other sites in "Palestine". This slideshow is made up of some of his images of the Old City in Jerusalem, a site of much importance to Jews, Christians, and Muslims alike,
Among the images featured in these slides are the remains of The Western Wall of The Old City, the Garden of Gethsemane, the Church of the Nativity, the Mount of Olives, Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the possible tomb of Jesus including the rock that sealed the entrance.
I'm trying to keep these slideshows non-denominational and avoid any political statements and my hope is that viewers of all creeds, nationalities, and races will find them interesting without being offended by any unintentional bias on my part. The music was chosen as it "fits" the timing of the slides and it's an emotive piece, not because of any bias towards or away from any particular faith. I don't know Hebrew and have no idea what the lyrics even mean.
This is another installment of the Persian Gulf Command slides.
