I'm long time user of Windows Mobile and I briefly moved to N900. What disappointed me the most was the calendar application which requires far more clicking than on WM and is even less customizable :-(

I agree with other posters that Maemo 5 calendar should have been at least as good as the one in Symbian.

Nokia will dump 4000 (!) Symbian developers, maybe they should keep them for a month so they can make a working N900 Android port?

so why does it not have all the features of symbian's calendar? not compatible with txt sms calendar events either! cannot send calendar event to anyone! worthless. Also day view is not great; I actually prefer symbian's version on the n97s that I am trying to switch from. Sad Nokia. And now a nokia windows phone? Excuse me while I puke.

I am not happy with this calendar at all. I was very upset to lose the functionality of my calendar alarms with this device! It’s the feature I liked the most on my N95 8gb, being reminded when I had an event coming up on the day.

I knew the N900 came with a calendar – it simply didn’t occur to me that this device would lack such an important feature as reminders. It’s a big backward step.

I even tried inputting appts via PC Suite, but the alarm still didn’t sound on the phone.

This is a good calendar. But it still needs work. One thing that it lacks is a feature from the E90 and N97 calendar. Say, I have 10 weekly repetitions of the same event every Sunday. On the third Sunday I want to change the venue, or change notes. I can't do this on the N900. We also need the ability to link or sync to online calendars from yahoo and google.

At the firsth contact on the screen the device doesn't know if you are pressing or scrolling. And because it has so fast response, it has time to highlight it before you have time to move your finger.

But I agree. A longer delay before highlighting would give a nicer user experience.
