The weaving or extension hair that I use for this how to tutorial is called 100% Kanekolon synthetic braiding hair

Single braids/individuals are a great way for any one that is transitioning and want to give their hair rest

other terms:
braids,plaits,3 strand braids, braid hair fast, yourself even though this is a micro braiding video you still can apply the same technique to "box Braids"

Preparing the braiding hair:

1. Take the piece of braiding hair you want to braid w/




then take 1/3 0ff ( the piece you take off should be smaller than the other piece)

2. Next, take that smaller piece of hair and put it across the larger piece of hair, now hold it up like I do in the video, it should look like that. ( with the double piece hanging from the middle- which will work as one piece of hair in the braiding process. That being said, look at the video again w/ me holding up the braiding hair, I have a piece on the right ( 1st piece ) the double piece hanging from the middle ( 2nd piece ) the piece on left ( 3rd piece )


( Now hold the hair to begin braiding, look @ the video for proper hand & finger positioning )


Attaching the hair:

Attaching the hair is like doing a small cornrow ( about 2 times) check out my "learn how to do cornrow video"

Now take the persons hair and split it into 2 pieces ( should have a top and bottom)
Attach the top piece to the middle piece of braiding hair in your hand and begin corn rowing down two times

Then flip your hand over to do a under hand braid , continue doing so until you reach the very end of the braid.

EVERYONE please again these braids are'ny course true mirco braids. Micro braids are of course much smaller. I did these braids larger so YOU can SEE BETTER what my fingers are doing. never the less no matter how BIG or TINY you want the braids to be, it is the same concept of braiding. Thanks everyone!

Plaits, box braids, micro braids what ever you want to call them, it depends on the the size and or if you add extensions to the hair. no matter what kind of braid you are going for, you still apply the same attachment and braiding technique. It is just the size of the braids that tell you what kind of braid it is. Smaller braids( micros) larger braids (box braids). so which ever size you want your braids to be, the attachment technique reamins the same. questions please leave it below

my friend braided my hair yesterday. This is her first time in braiding cornrows (i just showed her some tutorial videos about how to cornrow and she did it) and we feel like the braids are not thick enough..We feel like the braid or the knots (which makes that zigzag pattern) is so thin.. Can you guys tell me how to thicken the braids (the upper layer) ? what is she missing? should we add some extensions? please help.. and thanks in advance :)

@ Msasianpower96 - dip the ends in boiling hot water to stop from coming in- done.. plus to give it a straight permed look.

my mom braids my hair , but can't ever get it close to my head so that it will be tight . what do you recommend she do ?

what about the ends, how do u keep the ends from snagging on other braids. I do my own braids, the only Problem I have is @ the end of the braid, what should I do 2 keep the braid from coming undone. I"ve tried burning the ends but they snag on the other braids then it starts looking TACKY. PLZ HELP
