Note this was shot in May 2007, back when the filmmakers had high hopes of a theatrical release in January 2008. The plan was to conduct a few reshoots in late 2007, and then things unraveled. Most troubling was the notion that the film's cancer subplot was being removed to give the film a more upbeat tone, even if it completely guts the story and the motivation for the characters.

Hopefully fans can finally embrace this film when it is released on DVD.

Fanboys one of the greatest road trip movies I have ever seen.

mino210, the movie was only released in a few select theaters and the DVD will be coming out May 18, 2009

'Fanboys' WILL get a theatrical release on Wednesday, November 26th. Usually when a movie studio bounces a movie release as much as this it's because the studio doesn't really think the film is any good and they try to release it at the best possible time in order to make their money as quickly as possible before negative word of mouth spreads. Nov. 26th is the perfect release date because it's the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, so the film has the 5-Day Holiday weekend to make it's money.

are you that dense? oh ya, you like speed racer of course it makes sense. the film trekkies, both 1 & 2 was not making fun of them at all. it was a documentary into their world, and the bonding/brotherhood they had towards something they all like. ya....speed racer bombed HOW bad?
