LOL....yes you can! when I learned belly dance 1 year ago it increased my flexibility, sculpted my waistline and am very pleased with the results:)

Actualy, what they show in this short intro is what many bellydncers still use in floor work when they perform. So these are in fact movements form Bellydance :-)

I'd like to point out a few things. A: Bellydancing is the oldest form of dance and entertainment on Earth. There is no way to discern what country it originated from as variations of bellydancing have existed in records of every country in the world, except severely cold climated regions. Saying it originated in Egypt or the Middle East is just speculation, not fact.
B: There is no way too know if the dancing was fast or slow as the depictments do not give a second-by-second -cont-
