she may be a great singer overall and this may have been one of those bad nights, but I don't think much of her as a person after what I read she did to a member of the military. She's just a rich, wealthy punk with a pretty voice.

Some of you people need to just take it really easy on her..she was 64 years old here and she been singing for nearly 50some years she can mess up one time in her wonderful life..we all have our moments and maybe this was hers. i love this women to DEATH and its hurtful to see how people talk about her when she is one of the best singers there EVER will be. She just sung this again at a baseball game and she did a great job. Ill agree it wasnt her best but she DOES NOT suck at singing. TRUST!

I was very disappointed with her performance!! She has sung a lot of National Anthem's but never screwed one up like this...she altered the song by repeating words...this is not how it should have been sung...TERRIBLE!!!

Perhaps you missed when I said that I am a classically trained musician. American Idol means nothing to me. I am currently under contract with a nationally respected orchestra and doing quite well with it. I don't do what Patti does and she doesn't do what I do. There's nothing wrong with any of it. I just simply asked that she sing it as it's written. Perhaps that is a bit anal retentive of me but it's my training. May I ask what instrument you play or do you sing?

Wow so what I mixed up your age with the channels you viewed and the age big fucking deal and from your response it's pretty obvious your career isn't going anywhere. That's the point! I can care less what I or anyone else drive but fact is this woman is 64yo and going strong you're 24 and doing nothing but sitting on your sorry ass wishing you were in her shoes. Try out for American Idol and see how far you go I highly doubt you would make it to Hollywood. Oh and I am a musician so I know trust

I posted a comment that has relevance to what was said. What kind of car I drive has no bearing on what my response was. And how many records are sold is a completely asinine measure of talent. I was born in 1984. How does that make me 44? I suggest you learn to count before you try to belittle me.
