They mean that Scar is portrayed as more noble in the manga, though. He generally doesn't kill innocents, and becomes more and more aware of who he is and what he's doing. PLus, he has more leadership qualities.

Interesting to note that Hawkeye is the only one who ever injures him, though. Contrasting characters, anyone? Loyalty VS lone wolf, follower VS leader, etc.
