Estonian Police chase and shoot at a tractor

The ultra-slow chase started when the owner of the tractor found his New Holland tractor stolen, reported it to the police, and started following the tracks of the vehicle. Soon the police joined, and gave the driver the stop signal. The driver, 31-year-old Kalev, then called the police, reported that he was not going to stop, and informed them that he was going to commit suicide by driving off a cliff.

A police car with flashing lights was positioned on an intersection to block the tractor from entering the town of Tartu. The police officers also shot the tractor's front tyres but that didn't stop the vehicle. They followed the tractor and shot its front tyres repeatedly to stop it.

A total of three police cars were involved in a chase, with one of them driving ahead of the tractor, informing other motorists of the danger, and directing them to the side of the road.

When the chase got to Rõngu, the leaking front tyres were almost out of air and the tractor went off the road.

The driver's head was injured in the crash and an ambulance was called. Kalev was taken to the Tartu Psychiatry Clinic. He was also drunk.
