Calgary personal trainer Ray Burton shows you that a dipping/chinning belt is a great piece of equipment to add to the "must have" list if you are setting up your own home gym or personal training studio. In my case, the Harbinger PolyPro Dip Chin Belt is what I am using in my personal training studio and it's been holding up really well. Besides the basic chinup and dipping with weight options I now have, I can also do a host of other new exercises like donkey calf raises and sumo squats on blocks.

  • Do you think it's better to do dips with weights or no weights with more reps?

Also, how many sets/reps do you usually do?

  • @HowAboutSomeTruth1 "Better" is a relative term. It depends on what you are after. My goals for my training change constantly.

  • I have a issue with this this belt, it falls down when I use it, any suggestions?

    thanks

  • @pocker85 Do some squats.... OR loop the chain straight through, then back across then back THEN loop the weight on, so it actually fits like a belt. But watch your junk if it gets swinging.

  • Thanks, it works

  • @pocker85 My pleasure to help.

  • Yo be careful of doing dips at the age of 15. You could blow out your anus.

  • Eat more.

    Stress the muscle

    feed the muscle

    rest the muscle

    it's that simple.

  • @cummyCroissant feed the muscle? huh?

  • @blackbandos its usually referred to as a tricep dip, the main muscle its working is the tricep, but its also a compound exercise so that means it'll bring in muscles other than the tricep (liek the chest, shoulders)

  • @VDENORM really ? lol

  • i can see that the weight is dragging your hips down, doesnt look healthy, but im no expert

  • my gym is retarded it doesn't even have a bet like that

  • is this an exercise for the lower chest right?

  • does this exercise also help other muscles too?

  • yes if you need maximal strenght / power and big Muscles and high weight make dips with weight.

If you want a bit power, speed, power endurence make more reps and dont use weights
