For the actual game, see www.quintessence-tbv.com
The battle system is 100% evented, including the HUD gradient bars.
(The bad quality and lag is due to the recording process, which makes the arrows barely visible in the video. :x But it's clear without annoy-level lag in actual play.)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The normal battles, ranging between 2 to 4 mobs per fight. In this video, the party's already at level 3, so the crippling trap and venom gust abilities are acquired (although I don't think I used the gust, did use trap though).
Tips:
1. Combustive Powder (Lunair's primary attack) will ignite everyone around the target that it hits, so try to bunch the mobs up when hitting them with it. The first few hits were done like this, so as you can see the CP hits multiple targets there.
2. Don't let the large cyan-colored scorpion hit you at all (I did to demonstrate), as it will drain all party members' energy and heal itself.
3. Traps and sprint are useful for controlling the fight. Trap a fast one and sprint out when cornered. (Sprint also breaks snares.)
4. Always try to keep a distance between the party and the mobs. It's also easier to aim that way, since all attacks are distance based.
  • To be honest, I had no probs with it at all
    I 've played this game ever since the first 4 chapters were released
  • Hey I was actually thinking of a battle suystem just like this!
    Well not ABS yes but when you go into combat you transfer to another map and fight there. Haha cool
  • This real time combat system ruins the game for me. What a pitty.
  • Cool!
    The battle system may be hard to play though for some people. (And yes, me.) I'd love to try your game though. I just found it on GAIA. lol~
  • Hey, it's me, Hi122neo, only on Youtube, Im blackdeath122. . .
  • cool like the real time battle system
  • Nice system! I like the way you use the face maker graphics for this. I may have to try this game out myself, since I read it was very story-based and character-based. :P
  • That is amazing.
