@LVMotty81 I have a question,... I hope to get enough solar panels to atleast pull my frig & freezer but incase my power bill matches or exceeds my house pmt or my local power company is forced out of business and I need to find a way of living with a frig & freezer, have you tried to recan the cheese? Could that be done, that was my idea with it?

best way to put something in a bag is to use an empty coffee can. put the bag in the can, fold the top back over and down the OUTSIDE of the can. Fill your bag, then unfold and zip closed. Use the smallish bags Quart or even snack size instead of HUGE bags to do it with. Then, when you want to use your cheese, clip a small corner off the bottom of the bag and squeeze the cheese out the bottom of the bag like you were decorating a cake.

Such a nice video. The only thing missing is the vacuum sealer. You could vacuum seal all those cubes, flat and even and they would fit in your freeze like books. Takes up less room, and will out last the plastic container by 5 times with out any freezer burn or flavor change. check them out at vacuumpacker . com

never knew you could freeze canned cheese sauce..I do freeze shredded cheese. How long does it last in the freezer? How would you defrost it? Does it taste the same as it did when it first was opened? We buy the big cans of Nacho Cheese from sams club and we also have to end up throwing alot away due to not using it fast enough. If you can help me out with them couple questions, that would be nice. Thanks.

Great idea! My mom used to do this with leftover gravy and chicken stock...I never really thought of doing it with leftover stuff from cans. It's one of those "duh" moments...it would work great!
Thanks!
Sorry I accidentally hit remove instead of reply- this is the comment "Why not put the cheese in a ziplock and place it in the freezer????????then just microwave it"----
Out of curiosity, and because many have mentioned this- I tried it. I will say that it does work- but it is VERY messy. I tried doing it a few different ways, with different sized bags and spoons, cups and clothes pins (holding the bags open as wide as they would open)- no matter the way, the bags are messy, but do work.

a square has sides of equal length,k but a rectangular container or shape has unequal lengths on opposite sides. ie. one side is longer than the other hence it is not square, this is not semantics but basic, geometry.

You are correct that I was using a rectangular shaped container, not a square. The point was not to use something that has four sides, not round/circular as it is wasted space when putting it into a freezer.

I posted this on part 1, as well: Don't use a spoon! Dump the cheese into a quart sized ziplock bag. Cut off a corner of the bag. Then squeeze the bag (gently) and fill each icecube compartment.

Yes, you can do that however you are adding to your waste (the bag & whatever cheese is left in the bag) and you still had to fill the bag up with something, such as a spoon- so you aren't reducing the items you have to wash either.
