  • Really enjoyed that thankyou for sharing.

  • @Carmelitatorres Perhaps one should realise that there are many ways to express the "same thing" and that the traditional language of taijiquan concepts allowed the knowledge to be passed on (appropriately) for hundreds of years... It is a privilege that this great Chinese Art is being translated now into language that 'westerners' can finally grasp! Please take care not to insult the great teachings and teachers with references to it as mumbo jumbo.

  • @akirahojo2 #2 Reply - the pre-requisites you talk of are actually those for mastering the art! They don't disappear in this practical method but are embodied always within the teachings in a practically understood way. Thus CZ demonstrates what happens when the 'connection' is not there; he shows: what, how, where to sink, as his 'directions' create physical comprehension. So those are training 'requirements' not "pre-requisites". In practice the focus is adapting to incoming force.

  • @akirahojo2 I think the object of practical method is too teach without the reference to traditional Chinese taijiquan concepts ( which are just tools to language what is demonstrated but are culturally limited. Master CZ is really describing the smaller details from within the larger conceptual knowledge base which we are used to hearing. He is pointing out the deviations/errors that can occur in the practice, but in a way that gives practical understanding. Masters always pass on info this way

  • rubbish

  • That was cool!

  • thank you

  • Wow! Very insightful and generous of you to share this gems of knowledge. Xie xie ni! I wonder if there are prerequisites for one's body to able to follow the teachings here. For example, must we have proper connection of the upper-lower body, be able to feel Qi moving, small/big circulation, constant sinking, before we can do these?

  • A lot of really advanced concepts here being made to look very easy, the mark of real mastery!
