(don't get me wrong, maybe there is something i've missed, but it looks much like the existing tech to my eyes - can you fill us in with more detail, maybe do a compare/contrast?)

@SirFact So true, a world without money free's people from labor and give's everybody limitless innovation to work towards "something", rather than working all this week, to put gas in my car next week.

Ehem i didn't say "money", i said "profit".
A research does not guarantee a solid positive result, yet it still needs investment.
(it is a "risk factor"- a scary word for any company)
Of course there are corporations that manage to balance profit with progress.
(like mac, dyson, subaru, nvidia)
But majority of big corporations does not care much for progress, because they are chasing profit only
(mcdonalds, chrysler, walmart, bp)
And it is those "profit guzzlers" i can't stand!
