Don't forget to watch part 2,3,4,5 also!! The SOASC= project is an automated recording technique invented by me (Stone Oakvalley) in order to mass record music from the legendary Commodore 64 and its SID chips (6581 and 8580). The end result is the worlds largest music archive of authentic Commodore 64 as it should sound!

This feature film in 5 parts with a length of 45 minutes features real music from the Commodore 64 SOASC= recordings matched into a highly insane and tight synchronized graphics mayhem of a presentation galore.

The previous movie about this project was released here on YouTube in 2007 but I was never happy with the graphics, editing and footage there. For this cause I just had to use 4 months to create this massive beast of an editing treat.

This is the definitive movie about this project, so if you love Commodore 64 SID music get your popcorn and enjoy this magnificent ride into the cool music of the legendary home computer.

Visit the www.6581-8580.com for more news, information and of course the music as MP3 in a fully fledged database without any ads or crap in your face.

A higher resolution full length version is also available from my website.

Enjoy, 2008-bit rule, Commodore64EVER!

Regards Stone Oakvalley

  • great work guys, i've always wanted to listen to real recordings of the songs rather than the inferior emulated counter parts. you guys have a really great philosophy on how to do things, a big thanks from me!

  • @Jimster666 Thanks!

  • I don't recognize the voice synthesis at 5:27 . Which program is that?

  • @jci10 It an C64 speech software, called SAM (Software Automatic Mouth). From the doc: "When RECITER (S.A.M.'s translator) is on, SAM can reads normal English text and translate into phonetic script which SAM speak." It really great!

  • What's the merry tune from 5:16 to 6:05 approx., when "Commodroid" enters the scene?

  • @VoceCorale Thats Short Circuit (Track 5) by Martin Galway

These series of videos is awesome, your project is amazing, you even haven't put any adds on your project site, you've made a great gift to future generations, SIDs will disapear and emulated SIDs are ugly... it's a shame you dismantled Comodroid... anyway... congratulations !!!!
