Before I say anything, I want to make sure it is clear that I am not saying "just 11". That is not the point, and I DO NOT want to minimize the relevance of the number 11. I teach basic safety in maritime training center, and I always start my lecture with SAFETY FIRST. People do not take that seriously. They think WHY BOTHER?, especially when they hear about accidents like this one. No one is immune to accident, they just accidents and can happen to anyone. What SAFETY FIRST means that you must try to minimize the consequences that follow the accident. Out of 126 crew members 11 are missing. 11 is not just a number, it is people, with names and families. But without safety policy, without proper training, without readiness, 115 would be a much smaller number. You may be on the brake, but safety never is. So what i am saying is THINK SAFETY, ALL THE TIME.
