@henrique1944 I just did.. so much more subtle...an amazing lightness of touch.... Pollini is a Liberace in comparison.

@gejoline Please listen Guiomar Novaes playing this Sonate and you will make a comparison of both interpretation. She is a bel canto pianist.

@henrique1944 he can sing anything wherever and whenever he want, and there are not many with this ability; it's a matter of vision of the piece :)

Obviously he has great technical ability, but a lot of it sounded rushed and simply mediocre.

Man, what a thrilling, go-for-broke performance - I bet Beethoven would have loved it, if only he'd been able to hear it! After such urgency and momentum, the coda is especially poignant.
Achieving such lucidity at these tempos on a modern Steinway is remarkable, but there's no one like Maurizio Pollini.
