Aphasia is a devastating neurological condition that can destroy a person's ability to communicate forever. In an exploration of the boundary between visual and non-visual language, four people recall their experiences living with aphasia while their stories are interpreted into a sequence of drawings. Directed by Mores McWreath. Visit www.aphasia.tv for more information.

It is my understanding that aphasia does not break down simply into two types and people with aphasia can show signs of both expressive and receptive impairment. They are not mutually exclusive and can be included with terms like global aphasia, mixed non-fluent aphasia, anomic aphasia, etc. Very early in the process of making this documentary I was encouraged to look beyond these terms because the manifestations of aphasia are unique to every individual.
