A boot up of an old Power Macintosh G3. This machine still runs perfectly but the monitor went out in 2006. I'm currently waiting for my shipment of a replacement viewsonic monitor to back my files old up on an external HD.

  • "PLEASE SOMEONE" I just Bought this Same G3 But when I turn it on a Small box pops up with a ?-mark is there a restore disk or maybe a new harddrive and whats the best for this type of apple

  • @Identity420films Ok...Your mac can not find the Operating System and/or the hard drive is broken and your computer can't identify itself.

Try booting the computer with an older version of Mac OS X or if you can boot it using the original 8.5/8.6 startup CD.

  • LOL that mac has a IBM deathstar drive.

    5/5

  • The G3 just celebrated its 10th B-day and everything is still good as new! The plastic protecter seals are still on the sides of the computer!

  • What do you think of the G4 cube because it is either a G3 power mac or the lovely G4 cube for my first mac?

  • The G4 cube really is a work of art...but it does have a tendency to crack like an ice cube.

The G3 is a much more customizable computer but the cube probably has a faster processor. Do you need speed or functionality? That is how you should base your purchase.

Good luck with your first mac!

  • Wow. There is a lot of RAM slots. Cool mac. I love macs. My favorite is the iMac 24" Core 2 Duo 3.06 GHz! anyone who hates macs is absurd.

  • @Identity420films it's the PRAM battery

  • @Alexgeo4975 I still have my G4 cube and use it all the time, they are art. I had been using my Cube as my main computer up intel about 4 mouths ago. Now I am using an iMac 2008 but I hope to be getting a PowerMac G5.

  • Also beware of the evil voltage! Mine wouldn't turn on (fixed now) and i had my head in behind the CD drives, and it suddenly turned on and gave me an electrocution on my nose. Was not funny because i broke the ATI Rage on the way out. Lucky I had a spare...

  • I have a mac G3 like this one but the Bongy startup sound has died. It sometimes works and sometimes dosen't. When it dosen't it wont work on either the internal speaker, or the audio out port. The sound is not muted and i have no idea what do do! Help!!

  • @motherbord09 On the right side, there's a latch (looks like the one in a soda can), you just have to put it, then while pulling the latch, pull the down.

  • How Did You Get That Thang Opened....?

  • Hey Alex, what's the speed of your B&W, I have the base model Rev.A B&W Stored in my closet running OS9 (i dont have OS8) I love that thing, it even has the original keyboard, mouse and power cables!

  • is just a standard VGA output
