Democracy Now! Amy Goodman speaks with Michael Moore

Academy Award-winning filmmaker Michael Moore sits down with Democracy Now! ahead of the release of his new film SiCKO. The film is a seething indictment of the US health care system. It focuses not on the more than 40 million people who don't have healthcare but on the 250 million who do - many of whom are abandoned by the very health insurance industry they payed into for decades. "They are getting away with murder," Moore said of the health insurance companies.

The work that Micheal Moore does is important... I find it interesting how everyone hates him so. Whatever, do it, but you can't ignore what the man uncovers.

As for Amy Goodman, one of the best reporters, and she doesn't let bullshit go uncontested.

i clicked on your channel, and read that you're a "left-wing libertarian"....what does that even mean? I mean, I take it you take a left-wing stance on social issues...but when talking about government domestic spending... I'm under the impression "left-wing libertarian" is a bit of an oxymoron...

@computergeeq Partially; he has done much for the Left, and he is well known to most apoliticals. But if you are looking for more in depth analysis and discussion, you need to read Paul Krugman, Chomsky, Zinn, Fisk, Stigltitz, Hudson et al.

@mojorhythm It could be that he is on live tv and maybe mixes up his words a bit. He is usually off camera talking to people. He's never usually on the camera in his movies talking. Everyone might get a little bit of the camera shivers. So he may not say things as strongly as he would maybe if you went up to him in person to talk, but at least take out what he did say.

@djamorpheus I don't think he is a very good debater. He seems unprepared to deal with the arguments put forward by private property libertarians, even though they are refutable. There are many areas he could improve upon with little to no effort.
