yo, Why whenever I use D'iaddarios do they go black within a day:??

@StreetmusicianUK : Your "standard" modern stringing method, that we see repeated everywhere and advertised by string makers, simply DOES NOT WORK for guitars where the ball end comes off when the string is not under tension... Besides you should NEVER use a crank to string a valuable vintage guitar - Seymour Duncan knows all this ; in the seventies, he was THE guitar tech for most guitar heroes - His method is fast, accurate, and SAFE. Keep this video tip for non vintage guitars only.

This is the perfect way for changing strings!! Well done.. You don't have to do the knot thing or try to get 4 or 5 wraps.. Nice job..
I think Seymour Duncan disagrees. Watch him put stings on. Around the 7:40 mark in his vid. "Seymour Duncan's guide on replacing pickups"

@RCbeastly Thanks RC, I respect Seymor's methods, but I'm pretty sure the guys who've spent their life's work specifically designing, making and testing guitar strings would know the best way to string a guitar.

It's like technically the worst video ever - it's done in just over a minute, the camera is too far away and it sounds like a "don't lift boxes that are too heavy for you at work" video.

@2882890 The point of this video is not an in depth walk through, it is to show viewers that you don't just wind the string around the top a few fimes and stick it through the whole, like most guitarists do, which causes huge stress on the strings. The way shown is the proper/professional way of doing it.
