In Belfast I interviewed Sean McKernan, a photographer who in 1983 set up a photo exhibition called Belfast Exposed, featuring a lot of images from the height of the troubles.
Sean now runs an multifunction arts centre called BX Arts.
Sean discusses how Belfast has changed since the 1997 ceasefire.

I took a black cab tour with Billy, phone 07798 602401. Thanks for the informative tour, Billy.

Intro music by Cape to Clare
Music during archive photos by The Audibles, Sean's teenage sons band
Remaining music by DJ Marky Mark (me) using garageband

  • @petitefleur24601 check my videos that's how you should see Belfast

  • I have got to get to Northern Ireland someday soon. My heritage almost completely comes from Ulster - what Americans call "Scotch-Irish" - or Ulster Scot/Protestant/whatever. I just want to see the faces of the people there and talk with them. See the last bit of land my ancestors stood on before getting on the boats. I don't consider myself anything but American, but I think it would still be a profound experience.

  • the illusion of separation can never last, we are all one. Theres no Catholics, Protestants, british, irish. We are all human beings. There might be diferent religion, culture, colours but we bleed the same colour of blood. The soon you realise that, the better! and thats a universal truth!

  • @cunn1987 northern ireland is part of the uk and you spelled protestant wrong and we were irish but any more
