Premature deployment of a tandem reserve parachute. Jumpers are still on the step of the plane when the pilot chute launches off of the back due to one of the two reserve pins popped in the plane. You can see the pilot chute go through the upper left corner of the screen. Tandem instructor is unaware of the reserve pilot chute and bridle situation, so deploys drogue, which then causes the reserve freebag to sneak out of the reserve container. The drogue bridle wraps 1/2 way around the reserve lines, but then clears. The tandem instructor noted a turn in the reserve, due to part of one riser still being trapped in the reserve container as one pin was still in place. He reeled in the drogue which the student contained in his jumpsuit for the duration of the canopy ride. Tandem instructor kept canopy flying straight with lopsided controls. Landing was uneventful.
