Updated the ignition on the 15hp to CDI, no more points. Also installed jackplate which raised the motor 1 3/4 inches. Clocked it at 22MPH a 4mph gain by raising the motor (don't know if CDI helped), this is more like it!

  • raise that mor you will get 30...raise it till no more spray..

  • @MovieMakerPro77 Sold sold and sold! It's all gone.

  • Did you have to remove the cover to tap for that tel-tail?

There is a small hole with threads on that cover at the top right.

Can I not drill a hole into that and thread some type of a fitting?

  • @rickjm1001 I send you a message with the details.

  • model number 203b02a 1973 i am told has the coils bolted to the head not under the fly wheel i all so have a 18 hp evin and a 4hp lightwin all have points ....

  • @MrWill838 They did not make a 20hp with CDI so the only way would be to elminate the points by going to a small engine shop and asking them for the kit to convert. I was lucky cause all the later model parts fit. A points motor if in good tune will run for many years without need to touch them, I just did it cause I could, I got the parts for nothing, I wouldn't have bothered if I had to shell out the money.
