ok so ive removed my stationary sucker gaps and wound a new secondary coil and this is the results
a max strike distance of about 8 1/2 feet theres an example of this in the last portion of the video
coil details are
primary capacitor is 60nf
secondary coil is 125turns 4.8mm insulated switchgear wire wound on an 85ltr bin
extra coil (tertiary/resonator) 500 turns 1.5mmm copper magnet wire
power consumtion 20 amps 240volts
gap async rotary
power supply 4x microwave oven transformers series paralell configuration fed into a doubler for dc 10kv
charging inductors give a firing voltage of about 20kv

  • Oh My God... your news coils are just crazy !! amazing ! x)

  • @HVstyle thanks alex

  • Do you happen to have a schematic of how built that mot stack with voltage doubler power source? What voltage rating do you have for the cap? Is it an MMC? Also, what is your break rate on the async rotary?

Excellent job by the way....those are some powerful sparks.

  • @jgripp01 i got a shematic yes give us ur email and ill send it to you the caps are maxwell puls caps two rows of four in series rated at 70kv max break rate is abot 330bps

  • Is it just me or does this coil look to be a (relatively) high current one? I mean, the sparks are unusually fat and "floating" compared to their length. And considering the input voltage is "only" 10kv for such a large coil, this kinda makes sense.

  • @NichtDieseTone coil is wound with very fat wire and only 625 turns in all 125 turns fir the secondary and 500 turns for the extra coil

so it is possible this puts out more current than usual coils

  • reminds me of both Half-Life and Back to the Future...

  • Great T.Coil !.....for more info on Tesla pls watch videos: Tesla and cold electricity by HorizonDelta

  • Excellent work! It must be nice to have the open space to go full throttle.

  • Doh, your right, a gaping flaw in my awful humour!

Thanks for taking the time to answer what must have been for you some rather, ahem, unusual shall we say questions... Yes, I think unusual is probably the politest way of putting that. Thanks again, you have sated my curiosity.
