The gig's and travel away from family I understand.

But Dom travels to do clinics, so thats not an issue for him.

He has obviously made a name for himself and has done a great deal of promoting grip/methods. Very true....................his playing is a little to double bass oriented for me........just seems to blast double bass and cymbals for a decent amount................

I have just always wondered why he is not known for his recordings...............like i said who knows...maybe only him.

I do know of others who have passed up serious gigs simply because they are family people. You're right though- who knows?

He is making a living at drumming in a small spectrum . He is trying to inspire people through his playing, what better way then w/artists? Or have their music on the computer? Dom wouldn't want all the exposure he could get? Guys at the top of their game want to record. I just don't believe that if Dom was offered the chance to record for some of the people Colaiuta, Bissonette or A.Laboriel Jr. he would say no. Maybe the offers are not coming in. It's all a little odd to me. But who know?

I'd be fine either way, really. He has the international exposure through his clinics. I do apologize though. "desire" was not the right term. "Aspiration" is more of what I meant. I am sure, given the opportunity, Dom would indeed record. All things considered, he is driven by seeing others succeed. I am a high school math teacher. Sure, being a published mathematician and analyst would be great, but it pales in comparison to seeing my students get it and seek more.

He has no desire to record? Don't but it for a second. If his teaching and clinics can only be seen by so many people, wouldn't the best way to get exposure be by recording w/different artists? I stated that Gregg is my favorite. He has played on over 100 cd/albums. Your saying Dom wouldnt have wanted to record w/Santa, Brian Setzer, Lukather, Celine Dion, Don Henley, Maynard Ferguson, Brandon Fields, Frank Gambale, Carol King and more? And be a studio guy? You really believe that? I sure don't.

Famularo's passion is purely educational. To my knowledge, he has no desire to record. All of his gigs are, in some way or another, instructional.

Not saying that he is not all that you mentioned. Would you agree it is very odd that w/his credentials and experience that he is not know (that i know of) for recording really anything?? Why is he not on the list of go to guys like Colaiuta, Freese, Bissonette and others. Take the hundreds of cd's these 3 guys have played on; Why was not one of those cd's done by Dom instead? I'm not bagging on him (even though his drumming does not appeal to me at all) i'm actually quite curious. Anybody?

Dom is an absolute wonderful motivator/person/drummer/clini­cian/writer. Any drummer could benefit from spending time with him. He will motivate you to practice like you have never practiced before and will give you the knowledge to express yourself more effectively through the free stroke/moeller technique. It takes time and patience to learn these techniques and Dom is the perfect man to teach them. He learned these techniques from the best, and he learned them well.
