@Textynn No, salt lamps dont lose their ability to improve air quality, Wipe the salt with a lightly damp rag or towel to refresh the surface, removing what little dust might accumulate exposing the clean salt surface.
Contrary to widespread misinformation around the web, salt lamps don't actually "produce" negative ions. They attract water/humidity to the lamp surface. With added warmth from the light bulb, negative ions are produced through water evaporation rather than the salt itself.
