Actually I think that he just bite the glass, hide the broken piece and then make the "chewing" noises with his mouth empty. Still, very clever and skillful.

come on y'all, it's sugar glass! u know how they have special shatter glass for movies and etc. sugar is another type of glass that is used as a prop. it is not magic to the magician, it is routine...

@Flaithe: Actually, that was a very real glass--one of the glasses that we always use for our guests, not a glass that David brought or tampered with in any way. I have the broken glass in my office. Very real indeed.
