@Lorenachan67 so you're saying you don't want to pay for other people healthcare, but you don't want to let them die needlessly either... these are contradictory statements
government intervention and higher taxes are proven to make a better health system. you can't argue with empirical data, its fact.
-
@MrLucasNess No I'm not saying that.
-
@Lorenachan67 are you saying people who cant afford healthcare dont have the right to live? we arent talking about paying for breast implants or penis enlargements
and deregulating doesnt change the fact that demand well outstrips supply. in a free economy those are the two things that set the price, when demand outstrips supply like in HEALTHCARE then the prices SOAR it isnt a matter of government making things expensive, its a matter of the market making things expensive
-
How does it make me selfish because I don't want someone taking my money and using it for something they think they have the "right" to have? If healthcare and insurances weren't so regulated it wouldn't cost so much. Get the government out of this and I think people would be able to afford healthcare....
-
@Lorenachan67 in other words you are selfish and don't care if people die because they can't afford healthcare?
-
@MrLucasNess .......What I mean is that the healthcare we have now that is government sponsored is an example of socialism. Have you seen what has happened when the government gets involved? we have people paying for other peoples healthcare..never was meant that way in our country.
-
@Lorenachan67 higher taxes mean better public hospitals. look to Scandinavian countries. a free market does not make better facilities investment does. a free market doesnt make more doctors, investment in education does. there are two main reasons prices are high in healthcare, supply and demand, everyone needs hospitals and doctors at some point, and there are simply not enough of them. a free market is healthcare for the rich
and 'socialism was never really meant to be in our country' ? what?
-
@MrLucasNess How does higher taxes mean better health care? People already pay high rates in their insurances and their health care is still very poor. If there was a free market then Insurances and other medical businesses would be conpetitive with each other and would have to lower their prices down to stay in business. Socialism was never really meant to be in our country.
-
@Lorenachan67 yenah, you're wrong. socialist countries have the best health and education systems in the world.
I have to give this guy credit. it's very hard to explain to idiots. They have to do homework to understand these issues.

@Truewinner01 Exactly! The legalization of drugs/cananbis will open the doors to the development of new and cheaper medications with far fewer side effects than those currently approved by the (horrible) FDA.
Mass production of industrial hemp will provide cloth, paper, fuel, soil improvement and retention, building materials, and JOBS.
The US has become a nation of service. We need to get back to manufacturing!
