Travessa de diversidade!

Brazil: A color palette, most definitely, by any standards!

Brazil is a subject upon which I can elaborate for volumes, a country that saw me through my teen years, years that were exceptionally difficult, yet, I did not know it then, years in which I acquired a taste that would keep me going through the most difficult moments of my life: the taste for the diversity of the music to which I was then exposed!

It wasn't until I came to this country, the USA, that I realized how empty my music world had become, for I was no longer able to hear the French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Brazilian music, all of which was heard in the streets on my way to and from work or shopping, at my friends' and neighbors' homes, in my own home, when in Brazil.

I had not, and do not, intend on making videos, but, in browsing the enormous wealth of beautiful music I have, which is my only reason for uploading anything, I ran into this very, very quaint song, very descriptive of Brazil, a song that could not be presented with just one view, though there would never be a sufficient number of views to fully portray Brazil. Nor would there be enough words to do the same. I was surprised to see it was not properly presented here on YouTube, so, albeit I will not read instructions (which I hate to read!), I viewed all the available "buttons" and thought I'd try them out. I am impressed with how very simple it is to make a video, effects and all! Granted, I did not try all the buttons! Simply amazing, given the simple (cheap!) software program I purchased!

Here I try to depict views from the very well-known city of Rio de Janeiro, to a lesser-known historical town in Bahia; from the great Amazon River to the magnificent Iguassu Falls, to the beautiful stellar constellation of the Southern Cross; from the colorful butterflies that abound throughout to the Emu; from the Maracanã Stadium to the Statue to Brazil's Soccer Championship, displayed in the city of São Paulo; from the plentiful, exotic and ornate flowers to the incredibly huge variety of appetizing fruits, which make salivate the most discriminating palate!

It bears telling that SOCCER (FUTEBOL) is the lifeblood of any self-respecting Brazilian, Brazil to be a five-time World Cup Champion!! I, myself, to never miss the World Cup Events!

Anyway, all this took me about 2 hours to compile, the processing after the upload to take the longest, during which time I just went about my business. I enjoyed the try!

Well, it wasn't as simple as that! Upon my return home, I had a message from YouTube telling me my video could not be viewed: there was a third-party copyright on the song "Aquarela do Brasil," with Caetano Veloso! What a damper! No other song would do! I put it aside for a couple of days!

Today, thanks to my dear friend Angela (who knows not about this video, as yet!), I searched and was able to get the same song, a much shorter version I had to play twice, so as to accommodate the many pictures I had compiled! I think it has worked well!

Thus, I shall dedicate this video to her, my very dear friend, Angela, from Minas Gerais, Brazil! OBRIGADA, ANGELA!!

Oi, Paulo! Nao, nao pretendo fazer videos! Essa cancao, que, originalmente era para ser com o Caetano Veloso, e que nao podia ser apresentada sem fotos do nosso Brasil!

Por sinal, eu moro do lado Americano! Nao ha muito a cantar do lugar onde moro, mas, sim, as cataratas sao um lugar pelo qual dou os meus passeios diarios, sem falta! E um lugar lindo mesmo! E a unica coisa que vale aqui onde moro!

Hello, there! Thank you! I am quite proud of it! Decided on doing it on the spur of the moment, because of the song! Its lyrics just called for views!!

I have the Julio Iglesias one -- it's a medley of a few songs. And, yes, he does a very good job with it!

I am thinking of adding a few more pictures to this one, in future. I am surprised at how easy this was to get done, especially after I saw that YouTube prefers MPEG format! It made the fit much better than the other ones I had done!
