This is my interpretation of "Life Is A Rock" by Reunion. Gotta tell you a couple a things...there are some parts I cannot understand. If you happen to know what they are singing, I'd appreciate it LOL. And there are some things I can understand but couldn't find an appropriate 50s-70s picture for it. If you have any ideas...

There are some pictures that are sorta goofy (a rainbow, for instance).

"Friends and Romans, salutations" is a pic of Belushi from Animal House. I know it's incongruous, and if you have a more era-specific image, I'd appreciate knowing of it :)

For the "Gimme Shelter" part I could have used the Rolling Stones, but I prefered "Shelter Records" especially since it came after Leon Russell.

There's the line, "Carly Simon, I behold her. Rolling Stones and center folder." For the "center folder" part I used Dylan's Blonde on Blonde 'cause it's considered the first rock double LP.

I used "Jack D. Ripper" from the 1964 Movie, Dr. Strangelove.

The only reference I could find to "Phoebe King" from the 60s was the race horse of the same name. Couldn't find a picture for that one.

"Sing me Prouder CC Rider" is a pic of Elvis, natch.

I know that "fish" and "swim" and "boston monkey" are dances from the 60s, but I couldn't find a picture of anyone doing the "fish" so I used Country Joe and the Fish instead. :)

Near the very end, I used a pic of Sandra Dee for "teenie queenie" 'cause she was a teen queen of the 50s. And for "transylvania" I used the LP that contains "Transylvania Boogie" from the Mothers of Invention (Frank Zappa)

  • @avis61002 The band is Reunion. The singer is Joey Levine

  • What a good job putting this video together. Do you have all of these lp's in your collection? Just getting all of the graphics together was a big job.

  • Google image search is amazing :)

  • I heard this song on the radio today, Haven't heard it in forever. You did and excellent job on it!!

  • 20 people are just ROCKS....

  • He mentions Alan Freed, but no mention of Wolfman Jack. Anway, I've always loved this song and you did a great job with the visuals!

  • marnielynn2001 you must have way too much free time on your hands. all kidding aside, your interpretation of Life Is A Rock is amusing, highly entertaning & just an all round fun slide show to view. great job.

  • Dude, by the end, the backing vocals sing (Rumba) instead of (Remember), as you quoted. It's a citation to Doctor Buzzard's song Cherchez La Femme (C'est si Bon).

  • Genius! Thanks so much, it was excellent.

  • I Googled the lyrics but Youboob won't let me post a URL.

  • Great Para Work! The rainbow is just right , you will see.

As we reach the end of this music age, a musician of the line of David will be found walking in music, against a template in music, formed against him.

He will be seen at the end of that rainbow you mentioned. Covenant.

Word = Music. Ezekiel 37:22. Take two sticks. Look it up, you will see it.

Ezekiel 33 : 30,31,32, A chief musician, still yet to come.

Your work is a stepstone to visualizing, what people cant see.

    Bravo

  • once you learn how to sing the words in order it actually seems kinda slow. hahaha but this is awesome. im making a jumpcut music video to this song hopefully this weekend :p
