But later on at 5:00 it sounds awful alot like crimson tide

Would not say that it was the first heavy cruiser in the German navy. The Panzerschiffe which predated Admiral Hipper were reclassified as Heavy Cruisers later. In configuration and speed they were comparable to Admiral Hipper. They had larger gun calibre 28 cm vs. 20 cm.

@SSTTEEAALLTTHH i appreciate and respect your attitude. there are to many people who only look for their own advantage or carreer and do and think everything they are told. in german we call them "mitläufer". they are allways with the winner, be it at the nazis, the sedsystem or in the actual pol system. they change their mind as it is opportun and have no bad conscious. so we have political correctnes, lies, massmurder, stateterror, wars, genocides, mindcontrol....and the mitläufers support it

" who wanted this war"
Governments. Governments and people apathetic enough to follow orders are the cause of virtually all wars, genocides and most of the rest of the evil done in this world. That is why I am an anarchist.
Also, the treaty of Versailles was the outcome of WWI, in the causing f which Germany also played a huge role. Of course that goes back further and further.

@SSTTEEAALLTTHH you are right. this raises the question: who wanted this war? this leads to the question: who was responsable for ww1 and invaded europe to destroy germany at versailles? ...things are not that easy and future history will bring many things to daylight that today are deliberately hidden. at present you have a history that is written by the winner and as you have seen at cattyn, there are also wrong "facts"
-
The difference is the British weren't invading Norway, a sovereign nation, on a crazy warpath. The Germans were.
-
my father, wilhelm schmitt, was on this ship and he told me, that the tommies did not shot tomatoes, they also tried to kill my people. tit for tat. ok?
-
An impressive ship. But a ship that was built under orders from the Nazi's and was to perform duties, given by Nazi's.
I'm sorry for the sailors on allied ships that were sunk by it. It's a good thing the Hipper never wasable to live up to the expectations the german admiralty originally had from it!
