  • I like this idea in theory, but I worry that the clients using video relay would not be able to control the quality of the interpreting services, nor would they be able to get a consistent interpreter in most/all of their appointments. What if the VRS interpreter doesn't have any counseling/mental health experience? The relationship between the counselor and the client is very important and having an interpreter that is not a good fit could make it more difficult. Thanks for posting the idea!

  • Clients will not be using video relay service (VRS). They will be talking to us (ASC therapists) directly through videophone. We agree with you 100 percent that it is often not a good idea to go through an interpreter.

  • In theory this sounds like it could work well for some people. Just wondering could someone please post the basics of what she is saying in this video for those who cant read sign yet?

  • oh yes, my counsler agreed with me, one time a month use vp, and next month in person, reason Gas, so i always look forward to see counsler,I aprecation for IDEAS! Thank you :)

  • @ASCDEAF Deaf know another deaf in office, privacy is #1 and important for personal self-growth and establishing goals for a better life. Hearing psychologists/counselors do provide interpreters. Sometimes, we get stuck if they can't provide interpreters because it's expensive to pay. Nice idea of deaf to deaf, no interpreters, clear communication and have #1 privacy. Wonderful idea.

  • I think I posted mine in the wrong place on a video form.

It is an interesting idea that you have. Are you a therapist? My friend quit seeing his/her therapy a few months ago. How can I let my friend to contact you if he/she needs one? I would not advise you to put your number here on the public. I don't know another way. Thanks.

  • That is an interesting idea. Are you a therapist? If yes, do you have a telephone number so that I could tell my friend about you? My friend quit seeing his/her therapy a few months ago due a long drive. I would not advise you to put your telephone number here. I don't know another way. Thanks.

  • sound idea! I really like that. I have been wonder if anyone who have problem with alcoholic or drug addiction. Who need talkng their express feeling to any sponsor of AA/NA meeting in VP. Probably is one thing that hearing AA/NA meeting have hearing sponsor. The hearing sponsor doesn't know how ASL?
