Here's a real gem. Found buried in a Seattle area basement, the rare but sure-to-please "Black Lipstick" finally emerges on the internet. The cassette credits the song to a group called "the Briefcase", but Google indicates the song may have derived from artists by the names of Broken Hoof, Jimster 45, Spankster 05 or simply Jared.

No matter the origin, the song and its relation to the, at the time, thriving Seattle grunge scene has become the stuff of legend. The song purportedly inspired an entirely new approach to grunge's lyrical content and even song structure - Alice in Chains being the best example of this refinement. The most profound rumor indicates that upon hearing the song, Kurt Cobain decided to disband Nirvana (but was killed by Courtney Love before being able to do so in an official capacity).

  • HAHAHAHH. I love your "music"

  • That look is NOT grunge! It's drag queen. This look is more like early eighties punk and new wave with a drag queen twist.

  • Amazing
