Snare Drum Fiasco

Some snare drum work. Different note groupings using doubles. I use groupings of 2,3,4,5,6,7, and 8. Instead of playing singles, I double each of the note values. It's something i've been working on a while and continue to do so all the time. It's hard at first, but do it slowly and you'll get it.

I mean it wasn't studio quality but it sounded good enough for youtube. I'm not making gold records here, i'm just giving people an idea of my innate skill. The only thing is when you use mics, you don't have to hit the drums as solid. You can be a real "light" player and still get great sounds and be able to tweak the drum sound with eq and such. The gretsch bass drum and snare and other vintage cymbals sound great even through a video cam mic no? That's what i'm going for.

mmm i think cast390 (& most people i think) could have wanted to hear your solo with a mic that makes better sounds than how a videocam mic does (btw reallly pro playing and awesome solo). He probably did not mean to make you mic each part of your kit and EQ & tweak the sounds (y'know..all those meticulous things). With a better audio, we could definitely enjoy your sound much more. I forgot to mention that the sounds in the video were really piercing haha, but it's not really a big deal.
